FAC application and Shotgun renewal at the same time

Recommended Posts

I getting there with the FAC application. Im hoping this is the last question before I post it off.

I already have SGC which expires sometime in 2019. I would like both my SGC and FAC to expire both at the same time (this should save me a few quid rather than dealing with each certificate separately every 5 years). My question is how do I get this across on my FAC application? Should I make this application a grant application for both shotgun and firearm or should it be a grant for firearm and renewal for shotgun? I have listed the shotguns I currently hold and on the additional notes page included details of my current SGC.

Please advise.

You can only change your tickets to coterminous when your FAC is due for renewal, or you are applying for one, not the other way round.

On the application form, at the top there should be a box to tick saying "Do you wish to apply for a SGC that will expire at the same time as your FAC?" or words to that effect.

Walshie, so if I have understood you correctly as I am applying for my FAC I can request for my SGC to expire at the same time as my FAC?

I can see the question at the top of the form as you stated, should I also be selecting any boxes for the grant or renewal of SGC, or do I just select the coterminous box alone?

Yes, on a grant for FAC you can apply to change your SGC to coterminous, I THINK you should tick the box for renewal of SGC and fill in the relevant boxes as if you are putting in a renewal form. In effect, you are extending the life of your SGC by 2 years. Might be worth clarifying that part with your firearms team as it's a lot of form filling if you don't need to.
