Hendrix's rifle
So, after a hectic week at work, **** jobs, horrible cars and gluing my fingers to a tube of superglue I decided id get some 'me time' out in the field. Friday night saw me out with the night vision on the pursuit for bunnys. I came away with around 13 and got 3 within 5 mins in the same spot 👍 I decided to pack up as it was going light to get some shut eye. Got home half 5am to one of the dogs going mad, the other ran upstairs and went back to bed. Dog walked for an hour and a half and I managed to make it to my pit got up, Mrs going out I thought cracking, Il get after some crows. Got to the farm at 1pm Saturday after noon. Had a walk round to find the farmer but couldn't find him so mooched out the yard to look for some crows. The only one to appear was 170 yards away. Gun of sticks, mod resting on the fence. Touched the bolt to get an electric shock 👍 lesson learnt Took the shot and down it dropped whilst getting cheered on by some people playing golf. Picked it and walked back, upon climbing the now electric fence I managed to catch the inside of my left thigh. This meant I jumped to the left to catch my right thigh aswell! Oops.... Headed down the path and it started ******* down, ended up sitting in a 4 foot concrete tube for 15 mins. Made the most of it, had a smoke as well saw nothing else, walked back to the yard and still no farmer, oh well Il go home. It was my youngest sisters bday party so ended up at the pub till 2am... And £70 down!! So, 8:30pm this evening decided go get another couple of rabbits to fill the freezer, half an hour later, 3 in the bag with the longest shot being 195 yards with the range finder. Gutted, skinned and back home, happy days 👍 The 3 that were within 5 mins http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160515_22_29_47_Pro_zpsklkazc1r.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Cheers again Mel, does come in handy 👍 http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160516_19_04_52_Pro_zpsz1ibatiy.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=4 Not a bad sized crow this one http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160521_11_57_34_Pro_zpsbszcrq6x.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=3 The tube that's now my hide from the rain http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160521_12_30_46_Pro_zpsjfs1b3wg.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2 And finally the last 3 from tonight http://s1268.photobucket.com/user/bwbiker95/media/Mobile%20Uploads/WP_20160522_21_13_53_Pro_zpsqfxdmkht.jpg.html?filters[user]=144943119&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=1 Thanks for reading

decoy1979
Good write up, we used to prove the electric fences around pheasant release pens were working by shorting to the wire netting using the barrel of a shotgun/rifle, this was ok but if you forgot yourself and held the tang it sure woke you up! 7daysinaweek
all power to you (excuse the pun re electric fence) well done on the rabbits and the crow, you seem to be getting confident now with that hmr, atb 7diaw
Hendrix's rifle
Cheers for the kind reply's, turns out the farmer was having a stent put in, he collapsed whilst with his new Mrs... I wonder why? He's doing ok though so happy days 👍 he did laugh when I told him about the electric fence though!! I am getting on with the hmr, just needs a better scope on it. Currently using a Hawke eclipse 4-12x40 or something, it needs to have parallax adjustment to make it easier for me, especially with the night vision. Just on the look out for a .22mag now, a big dog fox got lucky, was only 30 yards away but the hmr isn't cleared for fox :( cheers again 👍
