Beet tops in June?

Could it be anything else? You may of course mean the beet leaves. Beet tops is the expression used when sugar beet has been harvested in the Autumn and the leaves (tops) are left behind.

Perhaps the beet was for an AD plant. I had some beet fields harvested a few weeks back. They attracted a few pigeons before they were drilled with maize.

Yes sorry beet leaves about 2/3" out for the ground now just got back from my reckey for Sunday and they are still there few feeding but lots more sitting in the trees around the field fingers crossed

I thought as much.

Today I watched a few pigeons in a beet field and they were going for the weeds between the rows rather than the beet plants themselves.
