I have an A300 and limit cleaning so far to the usual parts and once a month the trigger set. Its a year old now and had about 7000 through it. I have been told its worth oiling the recoil spring and tube using some oil and the connecting rod. When I clean the trigger set there is a lot of debris added to which the gun has been out in lots of rain. Is it worth stripping this part and cleaning it properly? If so anyone know how to get at it?

I dunno wether it's right or wrong but I blast my trigger group with brake cleaner until it washes clean then lightly oil it!

That said its a once in a lifetime event!

There is a video by gmk about cleaning the a400 which is similar to the a300! I think it's field sports channel that published it on you tube

Unless you've suddenly developed cycling problems and nothing else appears to be the cause, then I'd say probably not. What I do once a year on my Benelli M2 is to use the bolt to push the recoil spring plunger in a few inches and put a few drops of synthetic gun oil in there. I just then work the bolt back and forth a few times. Seems to have done the job to date.

See here at around 2:20
