Edwinmark3
For the second year my farmer friend has planted pease and the pigeons have shown no interest in them .From sowing to harvest nothing !! Ive watched with envy people shooting 100 plus over pease on you tube .It can't be the farm as I can get good shooting on the same farm every year over rape stubble .Whats going on .Maybe Northumbrian pigeons just don't like pease. JDog
It can happen. There are two fields within a mile of my house which are peas now in flower and they haven't been touched. In the opposite direction there is a field also a mile away from my house which has birds on it every day.
matone
Could just be fields that they don`t like.1st year we had them there was hardly any interest.Last year in different fields, they really hit some backward headlands and corners. This year they`ve been slightly interested up to now.At present ,what activity there is occurs from 3 pm onwards. Hth.
fenboy
They are not a magic crop , last year I shot a couple of half decent bags but the pigeons were late getting on them . This season despite having 7 or 8 pea fields to go at some which I would say are in good pigeon areas I have not even set up on them as there are no birds. The trouble is there is a glut of other options for them this time of year.

Guest stevo
Are you sure you still know what a proper pigeon looks like ? I bet you saw no orange on the field and drove past Haha just wait. My next trip out I'm going to take my hi rib trap gun just to show you how us trap boys do it. Just need to find some birds !! I have a lot of barley laid due to heavy rain of late but unless I can get them into a position where I can pick the birds it's gonna have to wait.
