craig5733
A little wax polish and brush it out with an old clean toothbrush Ok so oil the stock using CCL oil (avoiding the checkering), and use wax on the checkering is that correct? Love this forum some great help and advice. Edited August 5, 2016 by craig5733
welshwarrior
i wouldn't put any wax in the chequering
TIGHTCHOKE
Yes, that's correct, you do NOT want to get a build up of anything in the checkering. It should be brushed our occaisionally to get the dirt and sweat out any way. A little wax will protect the wood in that area.

welshwarrior
With a proper chequering oil. It's a lot thinner that a stock oil and goes into the wood more leaving next to no bulid up at a pinch I'd lightly brush tung oil in thinned down a bit. Any idea where you can purchase the checkering oil? had a quick look but cannot find any available.
