Lord O War
Don't forget that where you live also plays a big part in premiums. Get this for really annoying, me (I live in the Wigan area) and my mate (Dunfermline in Scotland) both bought Mondeo ST diesels, I have no points, no claims and I am a few years older than him. He has a ban on points totting up plus he still had points left over, also had no accidents and is about 6 years younger than me (37). Both cars were used for the same job but his mileage was about 45k a year and mine about 35K a year and his insurance was consistently 3-400 pounds a year cheaper than mine! Go figure. It seems there is no car crime/ accidents in Scotland so if you want cheap insurance move to Edinburgh.
norfolk dumpling
Of course once Brexit is sorted we can ditch the stupid EU ruling that girls and boys pay the same rate! I know from my old job young lads are almost uninsurable. Young lasses are far far better risks - they tend to buy sensible cars, don't modify them, don't try to impress their mates on the level of stupidity they can achieve! Shop around and make sure mum and dad included as drivers - this can bring the rate down. Initial premiums can be scary because of the EU idiots but then, once insurers have a bit of knowledge of your daughters driving, the rate will improve significantly. Finally please please tell her not to use mobile phone whilst driving - I drive 25k per annum and almost every other young gal seems to be texting whilst driving. One yesterday in her little Fiat500 was doing this at 70mph and very close to a big van. I accelerated away as I just didn't want to watch the crash.
