dodeer
My trusty pair of electric ear defenders still work fine but the rubber tubing which houses the wires externely has become brittle and is shredding, causing the wires to be exposed. Peltor importers aren't wonderfully fussed and want a lot to replace the rubber so thought I'd ask if anyone can think of any suggestions? I tried to upload a picture but it says it's too big and I don't know how to make smaller.
ElvisThePelvis
It may be worth trying heat shrink tubing, marlins should have it.

ChrisPCarter
Heat shrink tubing, you can get it cheap on eBay in different sizes and a match or lighter flame held close will make it shrink nicely round the wires.
BrowningB525
Sugru would be perfect for this.

mick miller
If your going to use heat shrink look for the adhesive type, it's thicker and gives a nicer, more robust finish when shrunk. If not to complex and if you're handy with electronics and a soldering iron, I'd be tempted to replace the wiring loom completely with a new one. It'll look like new again then, and, let's face it, to apply the heatshrink you're going to have to desolder one end anyway.
dodeer
This is the problem. I'm as handy like that as most of us at brain surgery!
mick miller
Hmm, in that case heat shrink may not be the answer for you.
