Glenlivet
My Freelander 1 has just failed its mot, shock!! Front offside bottom suspension ball joint - £170 fitted and retracked. OUCH - but it could have been worse I suppose.😣
Walker570
Join the club ... I had to shell out to get the chassis welded up and we still missed a small section but the MOT man didn't but just put as an advisory and a new set of headlamps as reported on here. £600 with all the running about, so , yes, you were lucky. I feel your pain. Decided to have the tyres changed at the same time as the mot work involves retracking, no partying for me this month! He doesn't do any spannering himself, he spends his time welding up bits for discos. Exports them all over the world. He LOVES discos!,
sishyplops
I'm lucky mine has a really good chassis, just one small bit of welding done before mot, that's why I'm spending money on it, great to drive big and comfy, and more economical than my ford ranger was even though the disco is permanent 4x4
Glenlivet
My Hyundai Santa Fe just passed but advisories on front pads and discs. Don't know how both cars ended up with mots on the same day but not a cheap process. Still, 50% success rate!

Glenlivet
Just got the Freelander back - £606 lighter! I watched the mechanic park the car and noticed a brake light out so I asked how it had passed mot with a dicky light. Embarrassed faces and a new bulb was fitted asap. Just checked my invoice, the cheeky ******** charged me £5 for changing said bulb!!! Had 5 Insa Turbo Rangers fitted, they look the dog's ******** but feel a bit odd. It's going back in tomorrow to have the front wheels rebalanced as I get a wobble at 55-65. It took the poor old tyre fitter over 2 hours to fit and balance these, he won't be happy to see it back! 69chris
i fitted insa t/ranger A/T to my l200 and had a right ole time trying to balance 2 of them, rotated them 180d etc and they still needed over 300g of weight added, but the other 2 only needed 50 odd g each.............bey you can guess which ones went on the front
motty
I won't be buying Insa Turbo rangers again. Less hassle and not much more for me to have bought BFG or similar.

Less hassle and not much more for me to have bought BFG or similar. Mine were £48 a corner plus fitting. GGs would have been £70+, big saving.
