powler
Hi guys, I just ordered a Yukon Photon XT and was wondering if you guys have tips for the use etc, it's comes with a Tracer 400ir kit, do you think this will be enough for the job, as I know some say the IR makes a massive difference. Will be on a CZ .17HMR. Sorry if silly question, I'm new to NV. Thanks Mick
Footu
love mine, have it on a .22rf and its good to 100m with the on board ir,batteries last well but i always carry spares incase. on a 243 i would add a nightmaster ir, so a t38 or similar is not a bad thing, but not needed. Thanks Mick hello, i have 2 MK 1s and a good n/v the XT even better, do not know about the tracer but i use a T38 i/r and well good for my FX vermy to 100 plus yards much more than required, i get a better clarity by using a front cap with 25mm hole, which you might be able to do on the XT, do not forget to keep rubber lens cover with red filter on in daylight. now have a TR38 and will get a i/r led to use on the CZ 455 rimfire with my other photon good luck Edited September 22, 2016 by oldypigeonpopper
powler
Thanks for the replies guys,I will see how it goes on the .17 the tracer IR might be good enough for it, if I do put it on the .243 sounds like I will defo need to upgrade the IR. Been reading some rifles suffer with mounting the scope, take it high mounts are needed? Hopefully my local dealer will have some keen to get out and try it. Like a pleb I didn't think about mounting it today. Thanks Mick
