  1. my wife passed away at the start of the month, we were lucky that we loved eachother and said so on a very regular basis. the biggest sobs at the funeral were from family on her side that hadn't spoken to her for over a year. you don't need to be friends with everyone but if there's any person that you think improves your life- tell them, it only makes things better.
  2. cheers, payment made. pm d address
  3. Hi mate I don't want to be pompous but are you certain they are optima and not optima hp? I only ask as I haven't seen colour coded optima extended. If they are optima I'd like the full set please. Can you pm me for payment details. Can bacs pay. Thanks.
  4. I'll have them if it falls through please.
  5. You don't always need a dog. You can wait for low tides, shoot the flashes or stalk teal in the gullies. What puts people off is the mud, the rusty barrels, the cold, the long walks with heavy packs, the mud, the locals beating you to the best spots when the birds come in, flightlining the politics at the agms, the mud, hailstones, the hard won knowledge, the fog and safety issues, and the mud. I'm off to untangle my Decoys......
  6. also beware, mine just completely busted after 6 years and 4 grand to replace with drain and flush etc. (not under warranty as you must pay for an annual service or null and void, mine was 5 years anyway).
  7. This is an interesting point. i dont know the correct legal answer but i suspect that the suppliers responsibility ends with the product. they gave you a faulty product, they replaced it- end of obligation. If you wanted to bill anyone it would be the client for a new hour or two as extra time on the job they contracted you to complete. The faulty product wasn't your fault, the job wasn't finished till a correct product was fitted. How much grief you'll get over that depends on how your contract was worded. Was it a quote for the job in total, in which case tough luck client owes nothing, or an hourly rate on the job in which case they owe for time collecting new product and fitting.
  8. Hi All I am just starting reloading and would like to know can i buy expanding bullets, ballistic tip for my .243 online? If I can do they have to be put on my cert, or can I just give my number in to be checked. Noob question I know so sorry if it seems basic. If I can buy online, does anyone have a link because I cant find them on henry kranks site. Many thanks
  9. By the time the season starts it will be fine. in the meantime do some rehab, go waist deep in your local pool and practice walking forwards, abackwards to rebuild muscle. Do not do breast stroke. follow advice from your post operation physio. Do not get cocky and start throwing deeks around the pool to add realism, it may get you banned.
  10. fantastic for range sightinging in ,with all distances marked out (assuming they have a driving range at the club). I go every 6-8 weeks, leave foxes to help out when you cant make it. I use nv and watch the badgers and foxes feeding, have watched mum teaching the cubs to hunt and leave rabbits for them. Before you first shoot walk the boundarys, learn where the neighbours are (plus ones with dogs) and any public paths where dogs may be at night, or kids playing in the bunkers! Its good fun but needs a regular commitment. I always write a report to greenkeeper of visits ,badgers seen where the fox den is and how many around and how many rabbits taken. This has saved me from getting kicked off by managers or others taking the perm from me. I wish you happy hunting.

Spot on. Same for any profession. My wife has been in hospital for the last month, they have saved her life on around 5 occasions in that time and its not cost a penny. The staff are overworked and cuts coming all the time, so expect non urgent lists to get longer. Don't think of your ni payments as a right to immediate care in all cases. Just in urgent cases, want better service pay a premium and go private, then you can have whatever you want at the market price.
  12. Well I just had a renewal today, was told I could have a 17 hmr but not to use it on fox, a 223 with fox and aolq, and regranted my 243 fox, deer and aolq. All open tickets. I'm pretty happy with that and off to the shops soon. 13. OK, so I've read reviews o. The dragonfly and ranger ir. I like the sound of the ranger so am looking for prices but can't work out what it is! Sun ranger, Yukon ranger or ebay where there are hundreds of torch types with ranger in the name...... Can anyone point me in the right direction please.
  14. I think its a clever political move on his part. Look how much influence newspapers and editors have had over our politicians historically. he can push his agenda on brexit , slate whatever happens 'in the name of the people' and sit in the wings awaiting a leadership challenge. He may attack for that directly or support a player in return for whatever post he fancies. A shrewd player.
  15. ok so that shows you my knowlegde base to begin. WSM=winchester super mag, faster than the hmr maybe not as accurate but less likely to go wrong? if given the .17rf option which would be your preference? WMR-.22mag (yes sorry that is what I meant for the .rf swap) , are they readily available and ok for fox? much different to .22lr? Thanks
  16. Posted from china, has anyone had one and did it work? I really am in two minds over range finders, part of me doesn't want to carry the extra weight and thinks field craft and knowing your perm is the way. ......but the gadget boy inside me keeps telling me its nice to have one and I would know how far I have to walk to fetch the body back.
  17. ok a couple of qs i need some advice on please.... My ticket has just gone in for renewal, I have requested add-ons of a .17rf ( I know I might get denied or pinned down but it opens up options- I got .22rf without specification!) and a .223 I currently have 3x .22lr- a target gun kept at club, a cz452 brno with photon and a cz455 with day scope. I also have a .243 currently lamp fox fox or day scope deer option. So if I let the cz452 go, can I get a .22wsm? Are there other .22rf rounds I should consider? is .22wsm an ok round for fox (North wales police said no to .22rf for fox which is why they gave me the .243) If I get the .17rf, what options do I have- I know there have been issues with .17hmr, are these still common and is it likely to change or an inherent issue with the type of round? Lastly if I get the .17, or the .223 or change to a .22wsm from .22lr what is the next step in night vision over the photon, for under £800ish or should I just get another photon? I don't have time to make a homemade night kit or reload but bullet cost isn't a big factor. edit... the reason for wanting another fox gun over the .243 is for the night vision, I want to keep the .243 for deer. Sorry for all the questions but I haven't really played around with guns other than what I have so don't know much about different ballistics, many thanks for any light you can shine on any part of the above.
  18. mine are still good 7 years in now. I use a mix of oil and beeswax, olive oil, sunflower oil and wax. Melt in my hand and rub in.
  19. another thumbs up from me, using 32g wildfowling it does kick a bit which delays second shot but a recoil pad helps.
  20. My 243 took an 85 yard dog fox at 315.helping out with the thinning before lambing.
  21. I think asking for the fathers blessing rather than his permission is the idea. I asked my girlfriend of 7 years where would she like to go for Xmas. Vegas or Sri Lanka. She opted for Vegas. I had the ring in advance and booked a helicopter to fly over the hoover dam and land in the canyon. Proposed there Xmas day. Boxing day we were at the bellagio hotel when we heard about the tsunami hitting the Sri Lanka beaches. Mixed emotions, but mainly felt lucky and happy. Still married to her.still feel lucky and happy.
