pestcontrol1
Hi all I have got set up to load for the 20 now and I loaded some up the other day with tecnan 28-30 gram plas an fibre. But is there any other good load with readily available powder as I am nearly put of tecnan an would sooner keep it for my light steel loads. Cheers PC1
rbrowning2
Depends on what you are trying to load? Assuming lead shot, 21gm, 24gm, 28gm, 30gm? Then several powders are available, American stuff but expensive, or Vectan or Maxam. Again depends how close you live to one of the suppliers and what they have available. Looking like a north south split with Vectan up north and Maxam down south. Powders like, AS,A1, A0, CSB5, PSB2,PSB2 special and PSB3 are all shown on the suppliers web sites and forums as suitable for 20ga. You have plenty of choice. pestcontrol1
Am not far away from c&g who is looking into some psb2 sp for me. Would be looking to load 24-30 gram of lead
rbrowning2
Since FES discontinued Vectan I have just started trying PSB2 special with the 28ga and it is looking good as a replacement for A0 I am sure C&G will be able to help you. Avoiding the expensive delivery fee for powder is the way to go if possible. Rb

Continental Shooter
Be mindful that Maxam, like Vectan, liek to change burning rate from batch to batch You also have to ensure you got the one you think you got as you have the following: PSB1 & 2; PSB2 Special, PSB+1 & PSB+2 The newest +1 & 2 are faster than old PSB1 or 2 whereas the PSB2 sp is a lot slower burning I had been sold previously PSB2 sp which was in fact PSB +2 and had 28gr loads shooting up to 1235 bar on proofing tests... whilst the load shouldn't have gone above 800 bar. That said; PSB2 sp is the closest to A0 (not the latest one) in terms of loads; if you want to go above and beyond the 30gr then SP3 is good to but you can develop some load with Lil as well. As mentioned, for up to 26 gr AS and A1 will suffice; even PSB1 will do for the latter; PSB2 sp should push up to 28-30; not tested in its current form but should work well with few adjustments. Continental Shooter
if you looking at heavy loads in lead, and want to splash out, i'd got to 800x, HS6, VV ... they won't let you down!
