wraivi Posted October 9, 2016 Author Report Share Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) It operates on the gas tube type image intensifier, which is further enhanced by switching on the auxiliary IR. you get the usual green speckles from the tube, but a clear image to see surrounding areas perfectly well as it intensifies ambient light rather than just relying on an IR illuminated area. Put the IR on and you can pick out individual planks on a shed about 40 yards. I suspect that this could be even better with further reaching IR illumination, purely because of the intensifier.
