Night Vision Monocular

My son is well into his wildlife, and wants a night vision monocular for Christmas so he can watch the badgers and foxes at night in the woods. The going rate seems to be around £150 - £200. Anybody got some good tips on what to look for please? Or which model is best ? Thanks.

If you can afford a little more some of the newer pulsar units are pretty good. Secondhand would be the way to go. I use an ancient pulsar monocular, one of the first ones they sold, and with a TR38 attached to it can see stuff a good 300 yards out but the detail is really lacking.

Under a 100 yards is pretty good though. The newer models are way better than this.
