Feltwad
Over the last few years I have noticed a big increase in the jackdaw population but this year it is bigger than ever ,maybe it is because of the mild winters with plenty of foraging .When they were damaging standing barley along with rooks and crows they would flight in batches of 20 to 50 at once untill there was a large flock of 100 plus they were then doing more damage than rooks and crows . At present they are feeding in fields among sheep and cattle more so the sheep and later around cattle feeders and piggerys .Has any other member notice the rise in the jackdaw population Feltwad
Sha Bu Le
Would not say a rise, we have always had a large JD population. Being next to a huge cemetery they seem to congregate in fairly large flocks.but not all of the time. However the little **** wont come on to my patch to get chastised.Did not know s o d s was a no no...........hey ho Edited November 8, 2016 by Sha Bu Le
