fieldwanderer
Just had an afternoon at the pigeons 11 + a rabbit. I know it's not much but I've been struggling to get into double figures for a while so I'm pretty happy with myself! :( No deeks, just sat at the bottom of a lone tree in the middle of a field and let them come to me :yp: Though the dead ones did seem to help even though half of them were on their backs! Soo, erm, just wanted to shout about it! lol
Highlander
What it’s all about. :( Whatever floats your boat. :yp: An afternoon sat under a tree in the middle of a field is way better than an afternoon sat in an orifice at a desk with a phone that won’t stop ringing. There’s a lot on here would give a lot to shoot 10 birds in one session and that without deeks

fieldwanderer
Thanks for the encouraging replies peeps, Haven't got the option of freezing them really but I did notice a field of grass being reduced to stubble while I was there so tripple figures might not be all that far away Trouble is, people are a pain in the rse for walking their dogs round that perticular field (even though they've no right to) so I may struggle a bit Might be able to "make" it work though; there's a, erm, "crater" in the middle of it about the right size to sit in, hopefully it's far enough away from the edges for the dog walkers not to be getting a "lead shower" For those that said about only getting a couple, that's pretty much the norm for me too but the way I look at it is "so what, it's still fun"
naddan28
I imagine, if you put a sign up saying "shooting in progress, private land." Combined with the sound of a 12G going off every 5mins, would keep them well away! Dan
fieldwanderer
just had a great day (well hour and a half) took 35 catridges with me and came back with a grand total of 18 pigeons (though 3 I couldn't find, need a gun dog! ) 12 deeks in a semi-circle with it's outside edge facing me (wind from behind me), I wasn't even sure whether to bother with em or not but it certainly worked! :( That's a new p.b. for me, but I've no more ammo and I'm skint! maybe the overdraft can be stretched a little more for this week's shooting may even manage the golden ton if I make a day of it!
