steve_b_wales
I've just taken delivery of the above torch, fitted with an 'AS' IR pill. It's a solid, well built torch, and doesn't suffer the 'slack head' that the T20/T50 series torches have. According to reports, it's 'almost as good' as the XSearcher torch with IR pill. I also own one of these too, and once I get the batteries charged up, I will try them side by side in the field. Well worth the money, and a lot cheaper than my XSearcher. I bought the torch via the torch factory website.
whitehackle
It it any brighter than the old t67? Or just better made?
steve_b_wales
It it any brighter than the old t67? Or just better made? As it has the 'AS' pill fitted, it's more powerful than the standard ones. I've changed all the pills on my T20 /T38/T50 to 'AS' ones, and there's a big difference in output. This is the first EVO torch I've purchased, and the build and quality is very good. I also like the EVO range, as heads are interchangeable. A hell of a difference with them all. My T50 was used with a red pill, and fitting the 'AS' one, was far better. I've only had this EVO 67 so can't compare it with anything else, but as it has the 'AS' pill (IR) I know it's going to be good. And another thing I like about the EVO range, is that different size heads can be interchanged. You will see a big difference with the IR, I can guarantee. steve_b_wales
The extension tube on my new EVO 67 torch was slightly tight when I tried fitting the batteries. I contacted Trevor Cartwright from 'the torch factory' yesterday morning, and received a new tube in the post this morning, free of charge. Excellent service, and an excellent torch. steve_b_wales
UPDATE: I took the EVO 67 together with my XSearcher out last night, to test it with my N750a scope. To be honest, the XSearcher IR pill, had the edge on the EVO 67, but only just. The '67 pill didn't give a clear picture compared to the XS. But, when you compare the price between the two, I would certainly buy the '67 if I was looking for another IR torch. I'm going to try the both of them with red pills soon, to see how they compare.
