Pistol grip night vision spotters - reduced for 2017

As I am now fully retired I will have more time on my hands for building night vision devices so I have reduced their prices by around 10% for 2017.

I've had to start using names for my spotters now I have some varieties. This latest one is called a 'Pistol Grip spotter' and is available with a choice of lenses, integrated Infra Red illuminators, handles and mounts etc.

I can supply it with a choice of C mount lenses: 50mm which is great for general rabbit and fox duty - or a 25mm lens for a wider field of view better suited to ratting ranges and the quarry being smaller on the screen. If no size is specified a 50mm lens will be supplied as default.

The ergonomic pistol grip is a more manly hand sized than some I have seen, it has a lanyard loop in it and can be swapped for a tripod or a pan tilt suction mount.

A 5" adjustable brightness monitor acts as a flip off lid to the electronics box that carries three USER SUPPLY FLAT TOP 18650 batteries: I don't supply batteries or chargers so the buyer doesn't need to return the spotter if a battery fails - and if one goes bang because he did something silly he won't be suing me either. :)

Note the two press switches, one for the illuminator and one for the optics - they are very quiet and placed next to each other so they can be individually or collectively activated. Good quality low light cameras like the genuine KPC E700 have better low light performance than cheaper similar sounding one's. This is exploited by making it possible to use the spotter without the illuminator in fair to good moonlight circumstances, or fog for example, check out this video:

This is how the box is opened for battery changing:

Price for the basic integrated T50 IR spotter is now reduced to £200 collected or £213 posted RMSD.

An optional extra 'Black Sun' IR pill can be supplied in the torch at £230 collected or £243 posted RMSD.

I recommend this charger:

And if you don't have an old laptop battery to get several 'free' 18650 batteries from, these are a good buy:

Can be supplied with a pan and tilt suction mount for fitting to the windscreen or sunroof - with the monitor trailing into the car - please order it as a 'suction mount spotter' if you want this option, and indicate if you would like the switches and lens to the right or left side of the device for easier control from inside the truck by the driver or gate bitch

Can also be supplied with this very upmarket handle that can als be used as a mini tripod (adds £25 to the price) please order it as a 'Tripod handle spotter' if you want this option:

I've swapped to EVO torches for all my builds now the older T50's aren't readily available in small quantities.

A 3 memory mode 850 AS LED pill will be solder fitted as standard (controlled by the lower switch) because the EVO head is fitted over/after the pill.

These will be available without the torch head at £200 for buyers who already have a spare EVO head - or who will source one for themselves.

Or add:

£20 for a 38mm lens head: Very adequate for subsonic ranges.

£25 for a 50mm lens head: Good general purpose use to well beyond HMR ranges.

£30 for a 67mm lens head: Great for longer range fox spotting - particularly with a tighter zoomed beam.

£35 for a 75mm lens head: For the ultimate person who has to show he has the biggest of everything - but I personally don't think these make much difference with the new AS LED.

More images to follow.

Other price variations for handles exist as per the original posting.

Add £13 for RMSD postage.

Buyers can source their own EVO torch heads slightly cheaper from here - which helps to reduce the amount of pension money I have to tie up.

I had to find another parts machinist and vacuum moulder earlier a few months ago to be able to continue making NVD's. He costs a lot more which means the prices either had to go up - or discontinue them.

My spotter prices now start at £240 without a torch head for anyone who already has a spare EVO torch head - or only wants to use it for close range rat spotting.

OR:

£260 with a 38mm torch head.

£265 with a 50mm torch head.

£265 with a 67mm torch head.

£280 with a 75mm torch head.

Add £13 for RMSD to UK postcodes.

There are now some brighter IR LED pills available which extend the ranges - but are less covert because their light output is at a lower 210nm wavelength which is more visible to both human and nocturnal quarry eyes. I won't be carrying them but if anyone wants to send me one I will fit it for free instead of the regular 850nm pill.

This applies to anyone who already has one of my rigs: Send it to me to do the swap - and put £10 in the package for return postage.

These are the sources for the 810nm IR pills to fit EVO torches:

As winter approaches it seems a good time to bump this thread - and advise that when my current batch of custom moulded 5" screen battery boxes are gone I'll not be getting any more of them. I expect to retire from making any night vision items sometime next year. I will of course still be on the forums, and capable of sevicing any items that I have manufactured.

I've noticed a typo in my last post - 210nm should read 810nm.

The upgrade IR pills I can now fit, at £25 each, are the Black Sun pill and the Black Sun Ruby pill.

That makes a custom buillt pistol grip spotter fitted with a 50mm EVO torch head and either upgrade illuminator pill £290 collected or £305 posted RMSD to UK postcodes.
