Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Hello all. Started off last night stalking a couple of fields. After doing a circuit of the boundary and getting 1 bunny i decided to wait 40yds off the edge of the wood. It didn't take long as dusk approached for the bunnies to begin to show and i soon had another 3 dead in the grass. Keeping in cover until the pick up was rewarded with a magpie that decided that my bunnies were on the menu. BIG MISTAKE. Dead eye duck and i moved onto another area as twilight approached. As the sun went down and i waited outside another set the wabbits began to show. I had shot another 9 by the time the sun had gone down and i could no longer see the bunnies in the scope at ranges from 20 - 74yds (paced) the 74 yd bunny was especially memorable as i could just see the top of its head due to a dip in the ground. Dead eye duck had shot another 12 with his .17 anschutz ranges from 40 - 90yds. we headed for home at 10.30pm and after washing and preparing the slain for the freezer we had this little lot. 25 wabbits for the freezer. Dead-Eyed Duck
Gonna Shoot a Watsit is getting too good with my rimmy What he didn't say was that before we went stalking he shot 17 wabbits out of my car on an area that any size of wabbit has to get clobbered otherwise we get complaints. So we ended up the night with 47 bunnies which was a pretty good bag. Oh, and I did shoot more than him when we split up and went stalking. He would claim that it is easier shooting rabbits with the 17 than when using a 22 rimmy, but as anyone knows that is absolute cobblers - one cannot beat experience and shooting skills Don

Don, Don, it isn't a competition you really need to work on understanding shooting etiquette the size of the bag is a bonus not the reason for going out with all your supposed skill and experience i am at a loss at having to point this out to you. Of course i let you shoot more than me its a long walk home!!! Of course your rimmy is superb as i would expect when you have unlimited ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ £Â£ to buy the very best gear. However as we both know i enjoyed a 100% hit rate all night and you missed an easy 50yd sitter off the bipod HHMMM! i think that display of your shooting skill and experience demonstrates that you may be able to buy the best gear, but you can't buy skill. over to you dear chap! Wanted - another shooting partner. Must be prepared to buy his round when it's due. Must be prepared to skin a fair share of the buck rabbits rather then sneakily pick-up the youngsters and does from the pile. Must be prepared to take his turn on cooking breakfast, and buying decent vittles when it is his turn rather then Liddle or Aldi cheapo ****. Must be prepared to stay awake on the way home whilst I chauffer him about. Must be prepared to take his turn when shooting rather than poaching every bird in sight. Must be prepared to have a decent shooting dog rather than a labragator eating machine that fights with the farmers pet dogs. Must be prepared to supply the odd cartridge when hide shooting rather than help himself from my cartridge bag. Must be prepared to shoot the odd rabbit at more than 35 yards than to claim that "I missed none - how many did you miss?". Lying, cheating thieving basket....... He's out of my will, and he aint gonna get my guns worth £10,000 that I told the wife cost me £250. Nursed a viper in my bosum I have. Well he can sod off. Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Oh well seeing as i am sacked, excommunicated and cut from the will i may as well carry on. you are as useless behind the camera as you are behind the rifle. Those pics you took last night were atrocious, out of focus, geriatric hands shaking, your thumb print on the lense you even managed to take a picture of yourself cos you had the camera back to front in the confusion. Now i am the easiest subject in the world to take a decent photograph of with my good looks and athletic physique and you managed to completely pox it up whilst i on the other hand with the geriatric equivelant of john merick to deal with manage to take a photo of you in sharp focus with a stunning background capturing you in a picturesque setting that more than made up for your physical shortcomings. i intend to use that photo of you wisely. reduced to passport size and attached to the ferret collars it will induce sheer panic and terror in the rabbit population as your chops approach them from the gloom. as long as the ferrets never actually look at it we should be ok as i would hate to turn one of them to stone. Always remember pin, it is acceptable to lose the fight as long as you lose in style HA HA HA!!!!
