ShaggyRS6
Hola all, I spoke to my Firearms man today (in fact I texted him first and he called me back), I have been doing some more research into FAC as I dont want to jump in without having an understanding of the whole process from application through firing the rifle. So, having given this some consideration for a while now I know its something that I want to do. I chatted to Mr Firearms for 30 mins and we agreed that the way forward was for me to get some permission. So, whilst I will of course continue to get my own I wondered if any of you local to me who I have become frendly with (or not) could help me out with gaining some permission suitable for FAC rifles. I know its a long shot. But..... Cheers Lee

Peter_HMR
Go talk to the farmer you already have permission with and ask him does he have any other land or does he know of anyone with land they would let you shoot over. Once you get your foot in and they realise your not a nutter more will come
lurcherboy
I went the target/club way Cupra and can apply in 6 months for land shooting. May be worth a go in your case? LB
ShaggyRS6
LB thanks, that might be the way to go, however, I am at a disadvantage and cant really get to clubs that often because I travel so much at work. I will continue knocking and in fact I have a 150 Acre permission as well so I will ask that farmer.

Lee, is you current permission not suitable for FAC air rifle? 150 Acres I would imagine would be fine (unless some obvious reasons like footpaths, roads etc) Is the farmer ok with you going FAC? The Orchard is a maybe. I doubt it. the larger area on the Isle of Grain is a deffo yes. I just need to get the Farmers permission. I have never used it as its non lead shot. Maybe another bottle of Whiskey is in order
naddan28
Is there a particular reason you can't use lead on his farm? Just wondered really, what crops are there? If you are doing ok with him and he thinks a FAC Air Rifle will help you help him rid the vermin I doubt he will so no (assuming he can have lead on the land )! ShaggyRS6
Good news. My 150 acre permission owner has said I am more than welcome to shoot a rifle on is land. Even better news my FEO has confirmed the land has already been passed. My FEO as posted all the relevant info to me including the white sheet for the land owner. He told me that I would be granted a FAC for a Rimfire. The app wont be as quick as my shotty. He thinks 4 weeks. Happy as a pig in you know what. Good luck and lots of shopping to do! Apparently Greenfields are quite good for FAC rifles and their is another RFD in manston (10 miles from GF's) that does rifles.
