Keith RW
Wife just shown me this on fakebook, I can remember when sparrows couldnt hang on feeders like thier cousins in the tit family...years later they have adapted to be able to do so..and making a comeback. Some comments on FB say this is a regular occurence with pheasants on the fat balls... Edited March 5, 2017 by Keith RW
rovercoupe
Had the same but with robins, they worked out how to get on the feeders after loads of trying but then realised if they just wait for the tits under the feeder they get the dropped peanuts with no effort. norfolk dumpling
We've a window feeder - a small plastic box attached by two suction pads - but it won't support the cock pheasant who occasionally tries to land on it! He does however get a good feed as the sunflower hearts and Niger seeds hit the deck.
