Mackenzie
I'm new and maybe i haven't found it yet but I'm struggling to find that much about practical shotgun on here and it is something i would be very interested in taking up i was wondering if there is anyone here from the Midlands, or anywhere really that could give me any pointers
saddler
UKPSA website UK Target Shotgun website Four Islands website Good fun, both PSG & TSG Spent most of this afternoon casting solid slugs. Got given an old water tank, so repurposed it through a Lyman sabot mold. Only 30lb processed so far, at least three times that still left! Mackenzie
Thanks. Ive seen the price of slugs and I'm guessing it works out a lot cheaper in the long run if you load your own
saddler
WAY way cheaper...plus more convenient AND tailored to target shooting, not flattening grizzly bears three states away. When I ran an 870 pump I was using a load of 20 grains, another shooter with a semi auto used the same components but needed a charge of 25 grains for his gun to function. Kept my 870 slug loads very mild. Only needed to perforate cardboard at 25m, so homeloads are THE way ahead.
Breastman
The websites above or the FullboreUK forum are better places to ask for PSG advice
nnorman32
Hi, Google the UKPSA safety course, 2 days of training for around £80. You can use a slab of 7.5 28g and can usually borrow a section 2 auto/pump. You may have to travel but it is worth it.
