Not at all why on earth would she make a statement like that on the biggest single issue of Brexit before negotiations have even begun, crazy and just proves she is a staunch Europhile no doubt. We should walk now on WTO rules there is not a cat in hells chance on an agreement being reached and agreed by all 27 EU countries with their own agendas unless massively in their favour. She obviously thinks now she has gone through the charade of triggering A50 at the last minute that she can just drag us through many years of endlessley extended negotiations leading on well past her time ultimatley to end up where we started. Wonder what she told Nissan?

Something along the lines of;

When it happens we will agree to abide by EU standards to preserve sales compatibility. That change's in corporation tax, and subsidy will offset your resulting export Tarrifs. The resulting salary reductions for workers will increase UK competitiveness.

I struggle with the idea of dropping our tarffif , but allowing other countries charge a tarffif on our goods. The result is to make UK made goods very expensive and loose competivness in the taffif imposing countries so Uk firms lose trade while EU firms increase trade. True that will make goods cheap in UK shops , but UK firms not only lose out in Europe , but also in our own country. UK firms will go bust and thousands , if not millions of UK jobs will be lost. But according to Prof Minford thats OK. No wonder all the others in the studio looked at this guy and thought he was a crackpot.Prof Minford says thats ok because goods in UK shops will be cheaper. Follow the argument on with so many people unemployed goods may be cheap , but most will not be able to afford to buy them. The tarffif countries will then have lost their share on the market in th UK and everyone loses. How can that be of beneifit to the UK ?

It might have some merit if both sides dropped the tarrifs , but not if only one side does.

Tariffs will no doubt be reciprocal but the imbalance will result in more unemployment, reducing salaries and make the UK more competitive. Reducing corporation tax and increasing other tax to counter will further enhance our competitive position.
