Franklin2890
Been using B&p wads and noticed they are pre split but are still joint with a little piece of plastic to each section of the wad would completely splitting the wad before relaoding give any benifit to improving the pattern? snarepeg
Not make any difference what so ever, they part on exiting your barrel.
Guest cookoff013
That just about sums it up. I collected loads of wads that i fired, some half stitched together. When they are loaded they are stitched. That's about it.
Continental Shooter
in 20 bore some of the stitches won't come lose causing the gun to throw a sided pattern; i use to split all mines up... and i almost solely load 20 bore In 12 bore there is no problem as i never encountered a fired wad which hadn't split ... and i mostly use B&P wads for my loads
achosenman
My experience is plenty of 12g wads don't open up evenly causing "sided patterns" It didn't matter what powder or payload I used. The worst offender was the A1 from a well known Brazilian manufacturer. I try to stick to B&P these days since they seem more consistent and I can't be bothered to spend my life at the pattern plate. Continental Shooter
yeah, B&P for me to, especially for normal ranges; they pattern more evenly than Gualandi covering the outer circle better I prefer to use Gualandi for long ranges, punchy shells as they tend to be more centered and deliver a bettern patter at certain distances... but they increase pressure... Funny you should mention that. I was decoying some corvids yesterday using some Gualandi V Zero 25's pushing 30grm #7. That load was folding them up like a pack of cards at some remarkable ranges.
