tulkyuk
Hi all, Here a couple of cubs i shot with my 243 on saterday night whilst out with Ciltalgarth (PW Member). we had been out for a couple of hours with nothing to show for it, then we came across these 2 and the rest is history. First 1 was shot at 128 yrds - nice shot from the window of my truck (Mitsubishi Shogun Sport) with Tim (Ciltalgarth) lamping from other side over the roof. we had got out the truck and went to find her (vixen), tim shone the lamp around the field only to reveal another 1, so i took a shot off his sholder ( left sticks in the damn car ) and missed the damn thing(lesson to be learned there). it only went just inside the wood, so we walked arouned the field for a better shot, squeeked a bit and it came back out on to the field but in front of the sheep ( couldn't take shot ), then tim gave a couple of more squeeks and it came in like a steam train, but went into a dip so i could not see it lying down on the bipod, 1 more squeek and out he (dog this time) came - only 40 yrds away, but i had to shoot him (243 at 40 yrds ), shot hit him in the chest and the bullet zipped him open from front to back and all his insides where on the floor (blew him backwards about 12" too !). so here are the pics i took last night (been to taberly game fair in the day) after it had been raining on them, so the dont look the best. They may be a bit graphic so be warned . Dog Vixen Both together

tulkyuk
What bullets were you using, just out of interest? Alex I was using factory load Fedral Power Shock 80 Grain - soft points (easy to get 1/4" group at 100yrds - but thats just in my rifle), i also use 55 grain Ballistic tips too (but they are barrel burners if you use them a lot).
