the pelt man
PC is still running slow, I found this site call Registry Mechanic It done a free scan on my PC registry and found over 90 odd faults It said it repaired some (PC dose run a bit faster now) but i have to buy the package to fix all faults. Has anybody brought Registry Mechanic and is it worth the money ie: dose it work or is it a scam where it puts its own faults on the PC only to fix them making it look a good deal  Please advise PELTMAN
vole
Have used it as a trial only.Think it last resort.Would be wary about anything that messes with registry, but i am a novice sort of to pc stuff. My problems have been mostly due to Spyware.Just my experience of it.Best of luck but check you bug free first.I thing Aditus Earthlink still do a good free sweep for adware.I find paid for ones do better job on the whole.Spy bot or Adaware highly rated even in free version. Cranfield
C Cleaner does the same thing and its free (you can make a donation), with the facility to create a "back up" before dealing with Registry "Issues". Registry Mechanic is very good , as are most things from PCTools.
pin
One of the better ones, but I still don't trust anything which tries to "guess" what you might want and not want in your registry. If you have too many programs running, insufficient memory or a badly fragmented hard disk you might be experiencing a slow machine. Then you have adware/malware/spyware which will eat up resources on your machine. After you have tried all this, perhaps the best way to "clean" a registry is to backup your work/pictures/music and install windows on a freshly formatted drive. Schedule weekly de-fragmentations and try not to install or run too many applications.
