figgy
as figgy said, i hold the forend with my finger resting along the side of the forend, it sits nice in a trap forend, and with a 682 gold e i had a while ago when i put my finger where i did it wasnt comfortable when it recoiled and kept banging the end of my finger, it may sound odd to others but it makes sense to me just like the big man  I hold the gun the same and suffer exactly the same thing, in the winter it's not funny after the first few times with a cold finger, much like hitting the end of your finger with a hammer time and again. It's worse as my main clay gun has a trap style forend so my finger goes about half inch further forward. Picking up the Beretta I forget until I pull the trigger. Might be time to get the rasp out and fix it. Edited June 10, 2017 by figgy
TIGHTCHOKE
Or just cut the end of your finger off!
figgy
You feel like cutting it off after it warms up after shooting a hundred in the cold and you see the purple under the skin.
