Benkent
I've currently got a Browning 725 sporter 2 for clays which I really like but the bug has bitten and I now fancy a Mossberg 590 which may occasionally be used for clays but mostly be used for game. Has anyone had one? I know it's pretty frowned upon but I do like them looking tactical I know we have no need for it over here I just like the look of them. The shop near me said they are just awaiting them to have the proofing done so should have them in about 4 weeks.

At the moment it is making my old hatsan semi look the model of unfussy reliability ( would only shoot >28g carts reliably)
Wingman
I love my Mossberg 600AT but having lived with it for a few months now, and the initial excitement of owning a pump action has worn off a bit, for me it has a very specific purpose, which is a field/rough gun or shooting over decoys. I have tried it on clays and it was fun but it just wasnt anywhere near as good as my OU or SxS. That said if all your after when your shooting clays is a bit of a play then the pump is hard to beat. The problem you might face is the more tactical your gun is the higher the likelihood of snotty people frowning upon its use on some clay shoots. I went down the tactical look but have put the gun back to stock and much prefer the original riot-gun style with wooden furniture rather than it looking like a NERF gun on acid. I would say go for it as a second gun for use when the bug bites you, but for me I wouldnt have a pump as my primary gun.. Mine is fussy with 65mm cartridges but cycles 67 and 70mm ones absolutely fine, but thats not an issue as I only shoot 70mm shells through it anyway. Benkent
Thanks for the info lads very helpful. I won't go silly tactical probably just a stock and different foregrip and maybe a side saddle holder. It definitely wouldn't be a primary as I've got my 725 for that. Will just use when I fancy having a laugh or for roughing it.

Benkent
Well you can get it converted so you can run M4 stocks but think that might be a bit too much. I quite like the Magpul SGA stock I see one on YouTube with it fitted and did look cool.
