riflesnshotgunsgr8
i have a .22 rf rifle and i do hunting and target shooting with a sound moderator which makes it no louder than my air gun. is it possible to practice with it in my 1/2 acre garden which is on the outskirts of town as it is not to loud and i have a soft suitable backstop. i already shoot in my garden with a 12ftlb airgun
krazykayaker
I wouldn't worry about the noise, its the ricochets i would be concerned about especially if its close to a town
Ferret Master
Depends if the land is cleared or you have an open cert. FM
al4x
as said if you have an open cert then in theory its legal, you just have to satisfy yourself that its safe
CharlieT
If your certificate allows you to and your garden is surrounded by farmland and you are 110% sure that it is safe and your backstop is good than it would be feasible. However, I personally think that the very occasional shot at say a fox if it's legal is one thing but to set up a practice range in one's back garden is asking for trouble and would be totally irresponsible. Why don't you set up a range at your permission. Also as you are a club member it's not as if you don't have the facilities. My advice..............don't do it.
