JDog
An interesting video from Whitfield. I have shot grouse there in the past, the place is known for very high pheasants and by the looks of it very good partridge off the moor edge. Carrie was apparently using 29 gram cartridges which are much lighter than his normal heavy loads. He didn't do at all badly with them. marsh man
Very good shooting and organizing by all accounts Mr JDog , I always enjoy watching somebody who is at the top of his game with there relax approach to shooting , he looks as if he is going to connect even before he put the gun up , mind you, he have had a few years on some of the best game shoots in the country and good luck to him . I was talking to a bloke the other day who treated himself to day in Northumberland , I don't know where it was but he was saying it was about 30 miles from Newcastle .the weekend consisted of travelling up there on the Friday , staying in a hotel that night and shooting all day Saturday , back to the hotel and travelling back to Norfolk on the Sunday. As for the shooting , he reckoned it was out of this world , the Partridge shooting was on a Grouse more with a ratio of around one in five or six , the keeper sat on swivel chair on the highest point and directed the beaters so everyone got shooting , on the last drive he was number nine and by then he have had more than his share of shooting and he thought after all the partridges he had seen throughout the day he was going to have a bit of a rest , well half way during the drive the birds started to leave the low numbers and poured over the high numbers giving him yet more spectacular shooting , by the end of the day the shots fired were over 2000 on some of the best Partridges he have ever seen , all right for some , maybe some of our members would know where I am referring to .
