Jaymo
Looking for a good red dot sight to go on top of the hopefully repaired target shotgun? So whats good? Shield , aim point etc? Needs to be the holographic type for and not scope ( have one of those already) Cheers Edited October 28, 2017 by Jaymo
impala59
Shield are excellent sights in my opinion, compact, light and robust and able to handle the recoil of a 12g with no problems. A touch expensive is the only downside. The Chinese are getting much better with the budget models but look for variable brightness as opposed to click stop for reliability. Check out the Russian pilad models, mid price, solid and reliable, guaranteed for all calibres
Jaymo
Any links please As you can see from the other thread I’m terrible when it comes to spending, besides the cat doesn’t really need feeding this month!

impala59
Shield (absolute best IMHO) I use one on my .22 rifle, a bit OTT for that but good enough for British army , good enough for me! http://www.shieldpsd.com/portfolio-posts/reflex-mini-sight Russian, solid good value, unbreakable, the Baikal/Zenith of red dots http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RUSSIAN-RED-DOT-REFLEX-SIGHT-VOMZ-PILAD-P1x42-WEAVER/162717576448?epid=894760659&hash=item25e2b92d00:g:ekUAAOSweM1Z55qr Budget (I'm using one of these at the moment on my box fed pump, can't as yet fault it) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-green-dot-sight-Parallax-free-rifle-sight-Weaver-rail-holographic-sight/201840734096?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D48785%26meid%3Dd7477798e6e0477faaff1550212a46f9%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D161948188756&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 Another budget item that I have , has proved to be shockproof and accurate https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Walther-Holographic-Red-Green-Dot-Sight-Fits-20mm-Rails-Airsoft-Reflex-Sight/161467942649?hash=item25983d46f9:g:QhEAAOSwBahVG-A1 The only thing I would counsel with some budget items (not necessarily the above) is to invest in some M4 machine screws and nyloc nuts, pennies on the bay give 100% lock on rail Edited October 29, 2017 by impala59
Jaymo
Thanks impala59 Think it will the Shield, the other linked items that you posted are a bit enclosed/chunky for what I wish- think the Shield will appear as almost invisible a give a good visibility around too and not make block out my view? Also as I still have a Glock 19 at my old place in frogland , the mini plus mount would sit nicely on it. Just need to see if a picatinny option mount avail too which I'm sure is. The fact they are used by our forces is a good endorsement too, bit like the Spartan bipod about which I have posted.
impala59
Go for it! My Shield is slightly older model but is also sold without the rail mount (optional b..... extra!) I do like the battery change tray on this new model, mine has to come off the rail to replace (never loses zero though!) one great feature of the Shield is the self adjusting brightness which is like magic really!
