Question

The following is a well written review of the Pulsar Quantum Lite XQ30V thermal imaging monocular. Question is, is it valid?

This unit represents excellent value for money. A couple of years ago this would have been nearly £3000, and not have had all the features that are now included. The quality of image is very good with bunny detection out to 250m. Ranges do change depending on the ambient temperatures, but this unit will locate targets well beyond the average shooter’s capabilities. A very affordable piece of gear, which if you have never used a thermal imager before, will impress. Once you have had one, I am confident that you will never be without one. Apart from sportsmen, this unit is first class for nature observations, and surveillance .

You can detect a hot spot out to 250 but you can not identity if there is no movement.

I use one, i'm mostly happy with it, it sort of does what i need. There is a focus issue with them. The so called focus ring does nothing other than turn back and forth. easier than the lamps. still need the lamp to take a shot as i will not use any thermal on rifle, your only at best guess most of the time. mistake can and will happen more compared to night vision of lamps.

Many thanks. Think I'll stick with the 860 RT for now

I've used the xq38 and it was bloody brilliant! Unfortunately the reviewer and I have very different ideas about "very affordable"!

And me!
