Seadog1408
Does anyone know where I can get a bushing tool in the uk?, need to remove a disc striker on an AYA. TIA mike
Graham M
Is it a double hole or a triple hole. If it's just a double hole then you can make one easy enough, but it needs to be a very good fit. I made one by cutting and grinding one of the bits on my impact driver. Was able to start it with the impact and then move on to a ratchet.
Seadog1408
Double hole, I CAN fabricate one, just thought I might be able to pick one up this side of the pond easily. mike
Graham M
Just looked on the Midway usa site and the Menck tool has been discontinued. Seems strange that something as useful as that would no-longer be wanted.
Salopian
The Menck was not actually all that good. It would slip when being used on stubborn discs.. Most people fabricate something from either a flat bladed turn screw (screw driver) , impact wrench bit (possibly the best) Pins need to be correctly sized and spaced and breech face may require a little bit of heat , which entails taking the stock off to be safe. Seadog1408
Just to put a pin in this, I made a tool from a pair of circlip pliers, cut the 1mm ends off and ground the main legs down to a couple of 2mm pins, bit of WD40 and it opened easily. mike
figgy
Check if you need to remove gas vents before trying to remove the discs like on some Spanish guns. Bit of gentle heat some penetrating oil and a tap on end of the bit as you try to turn it should free it off. Or impact driver to start it moving.
