ernyha
+ how many shots does it last for?? I have fitted a Theoben gas ram to my BSA Superstar and it fires just one shot exactly as it did when the spring was in. Are you getting confused with a gas bottle? Magpies are gay
No! i ment when you fit a gas ram 2 a spring gun m8! it says in my "air gun world" that it lasts for 1000's of shots!
ernyha
Just like a spring does then ! Mine is just as good as new after 7 years.
red_stag88
Ern, I have never quite understood both what a Gas Ram is, or what the attration of one is if it still only runs at 12ft/lbs. Enlighten me.
Magpies are gay
Stag! apparntly it raises the ft/pound of you gun, you fit it in sted of the spring or with the spring! i aint sure m8! all i know is that is raises the ft/pound! for 1000's of shots buy this gas ram, it some how fires gas as well as the air from the spring(thats if the spring is there still) sorry if that doesnt make sence any 1! ernyha
RS a gas ram is basically a gas strut, ie the same as the things fitted to the tailgate of a car and act like a spring. The advantage is that they have less kick when you fire, almost as good as a pre-charged gun. Another advertised advantage is that they can be kept loaded for much longer periods than a springer without losing any power.
ernyha
sorry if that doesnt make sence any 1! :< Magpie, it doesn't. Firstly it is fitted in place of the spring and not with it. Secondly it only increases the power above the legal limit if you fit a .177 ram into a .22 airgun.
red_stag88
And how much is said gas ram?
Magpies are gay
yer i know! i wasnt sure about replacing the spring!, sorry and i said it increses the ft/pound if u put a .177 in a .22! that was in the 1st reply m8!
sharp_shooter
if you fit a .22 gas ram into a .22 spring gun then the cocking effort is reduced and the consitency of the pellet is increased, however this is only a marginal increase so on something like the hw97k or AAtx200 then the cost of the gas ram is pointless. It is called a gas ram because instead of a spring coiling up air gets compressed inside a container (hense the gas) and then pushes forwards a metal bar (thats the ram part) which has a seal on the end to push forwards air. On a bsa lightning the upgrade is worth considering but on a high quality springer its a waste of money. It is also worth considering a venom upgrade which is better still than a gas ram. Not all guns are compatible with gas rams. hope that clears things up.
