washerboy
I haven’t bred a litter of pups in over 10 years and even then most of the pups where given to friends and I didn’t have surplus. I am now contemplating breeding from my Lurcher bitch to a good friends Lurcher dog , question is do folks put the feelers out when they breed ? I will keep a pup back and my pal will have a home for one . what do the shooting lads do when breeding labs or spaniels ? last thing I want is trying to get rid of 7 or 8 pups on gumtree etc
archi
I did and had 3 or so people who had seen my bitch work say they wanted one. Put her to a ftch and then didn't want one in the end.

Mice!
I would imagine that's one of the things you have to think about before breeding, probably a lot easier for guys with kc reg dogs, from what I've seen in countrymans weekly and online the prices of lurchers dropped after the laws changed with regards to fox and hares so hopefully not loads of dogs being bred just to make a buck, but its still going to cost the same to feed and rear the litter. washerboy
Yes maybe easier to buy a bitch pup in then try and find home for the remaining litter if I only keep one
