Dunkield
I rarely use mine they are mostly used by occasional visitors, so it's been a while since I gave them a good look over. Quite shocking what was lurking under the foam padding of the crossbar.
Whitebridges
Good job you spotted that. Could have been a nasty accident. A dead bloke rather than a dead deer ! What's the fix?
Dunkield
As I don't have welding gear any more I have bought some heavy duty 22mm tubing to whack down the inside. That and done stainless bolts will have to do. The seat in question has got a year left in it tops, unfortunately they just rot from the inside out. moose man
Few years back I had a spate of vandalism on some seats in a wood , one of the wooden ones was cut three quarters of the way through , luckily the idiot left the saw dust on view .. I always run a wire up the back now . If they get cut the wire it is easily visible or in the dark you can feel it ..I’ve a couple of seats that must be close on twenty years old , galvanised and then painted there are as good as new , I’ve given up buying the cheap ones they only seem to last two or three years before the rust gets them ..
