Clay cracker
Hi just wanting some help all the loading data i have is based on black powder and substitutes, i was wondering if anyone could recommend an nitro powder load for a 12 bore 2 1/2 brass case, winchester large pistol primers and 1/2 inch fibre wads 30 or 32 gram lead. saddler
Do NOT use 12-bore wads/cards if the brass cases are the CBC-Magtech type; you'll need 11-bore sized components as the case walls are much thinner than plastic hulls.
Clay cracker
Thanks for that saddler but I already know my wads and cards are 11 gauge. Was going to load them with pyrodex but cant seem to find any round my way so, trying to get some nitro data for the components i all ready have. Uncle Albert
Hiya Claycracker As has been said, Clay and Game has some information. Otherwise, have a look on John's site at Folkestone Engineering Supplies. He has some loads published on there. Good bloke to deal with and a mine of information. You won't go far wrong there. I use him but then again he is relatively close. I've never used brass cases. I get all my old hulls from the clay ground. You have to be choosy though. Don't get any that are rusty or wet and stick to one make, it saves a lot of hassle. Dave

Good, then load as per plastic hulls (for the same shot weight) One of the US shops publishes a lot of specialist handbooks, they do have one for brass shotshells.
