Bumble
Hi folks, Does anybody have any experience with the government management grants, and if so, is it worth bothering? My main permission has a fair bit of woodland on it, including one of about 80 acres, mostly mature hardwoods, and is in need of some TLC. Before I go thrashing it with the chainsaw, I thought I’d see if we could get grants in place first to help fund any work that needs doing Cheers. Walker570
Contact the Forstry Commision office local to you. I was of the belief that grants had closed, but things change. They will certainly advise you as they handle all woodland grants available through the government. I planted my wood just over 20yrs ago with a 15yr grant agreement and that was overseen by the Forestry Commission who came in once a year and checked it was all being looked after etc. They were very helpful. Don't go the way of the Woodland Trust in my expeirence as their plan is to give open access to Joe Public. CharlieT
You are correct, FC forestry grants are now closed. All that is now available is Woodland Support - countryside stewardship grants, which can be found here........ https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/countryside-stewardship-woodland-support
