garygas
Hi all, Is there any difference in accuracy between a "full length" classic barrell and carbine? I hope to purchase a AAs400 12ft/lbs shortly. Will be used for hunting rabbits and field target, probably in .177. Ta Gary
pin
Not so you'd notice in real world shooting situations. The longer barrel should be more accurate traditionally but I am not sure it's required at these kinds of speeds.

SNAKEBITE
There is no effect on accuracy. It takes a projectile 7 revolutions within the rifling of the barrell to become stable. Any more than 7 is just gilding the lilly. A carbine will accomodate more than 7 twists so will be just as accurate as a longer barrell. I was told this information by the gunshop where I bought my HW57 when I commented on a carbine barrel.
