Cranfield
Thanks for all the suggestions and kind offers. Having been out all morning I hadn,t read the later posts, especially Fisherman Mikes Gamo CF30 offer, that has got to be the bargain of the year. I wish I had read that before I went out. However, I have just returned from the Gunshop having purchased a Webley Excel, with no silencer, but a telescopic sight. The gun is new, but has been replaced by the Exocet model, so I got a superb cash deal and am very pleased. The chap took me to their "range" (out the back) and we compared the noise of "springers", with and without silencers. The Excel was as quiet, as some with silencers. So I decided that I didn,t need a silencer. Also, my groupings at 25 yards, are better than I thought they would be, but that was "at rest". I will now start some serious practise, before I threaten the local magpie population.

Fisherman Mike
Sound like a good deal, £75.00 inc. pellets.... Dead Eye... The pellets were 85 quid I was going to chuck the gun in with em.. Seriously Though.... Nothing wrong with the CF30 I can get better groups at 30m with it than I can with my 90K gas Ram !!!!!!

byhsu
The Hw97K with a built in silencer is not too loud. also the TX200 mk3 has a barrel shroud and you get the benefit of no twang out of the box. I just bought a TX200HC .22 and added a moderator insert about 8 quid and is not too loud either. the Pellet hitting the wood target is louder.
