    Silencer

I am looking for a moderator to install in a HW95K. Anyone know which one works well with that gun?
  2. Fisher Mike: I am interested in getting a HW90, does it come with a muzzle break as standard?
  3. lighter pellets will yield the most power out of a springer. But that is FPE at the muzzle. I usually go with .22 14.5 gr superdomes. they are cheap for plinking. If you want to have good punch long range, I would get the Crossman Premiers. They retain more energy than the superdomes at 50 yards. As for power, I've heard that tuning them with the Venom Stage 1 power kit adds at least 2 ft/lbs to the gun.
  4. I myself prefer the springer, so would go for the Longbow in .22 Just need to cock it once and shoot. Very nice looking rifle, with a threaded barrel for the addition of a moderator.
  5. Mallinson: I have the TX200HC .22 and is not CO2 powered, it is spring powered. The HW95K is an excellent airgun for rabbits. it is light yet powerful, also consider the supersport. These two rifles are adequate for rabbit hunting.
  6. you must be talking feet mate, not yards. You can't see a fox out to 250 yards with the naked eye. Unless you have the vision of an eagle.
  7. Off hand my groups are around 1.5 inches. rested with a dining table chair, they are less than 1 inch. my scope is zeroed at 40 yards and I use a .22 TX200HC with about 16 FPE
  8. LC: I prefer springers because of simplicity of use. No need to pump the gun or carry air tanks with you. But I did consider the PCP. If I was to buy one, I would agree with Gamebag and get the S200. It is light, less than 6 pounds, and compact, less than 36 inches long. Great rifle for the price. Power is adjustable and the .22 can get up to 20 FPE
  9. Great Choice LC, I got a .22 TX200HC and is fantastic, I love the rifle. What caliber did you get yours in?

    .177 or .22

I have shot the .177 and .22 and I prefer the .22 because of more knock down power. Also, the .177 does have a flatter trajectory but at a longer distance it loses more of its energy, so having flatter trajectory doesn't help, especially if you are not just plinking, but hunting. What I do is I zero my rifle at a longer distance, say 35 or 40 yards, if you are to go hunting at longer distances. .22 dome pellets are the best for hunting. Practice with the gun to know how much you have to hold over if you are shooting at 50 yards and hold under if shooting at 20 or 25 yards. (that is if you zero at 35 or 40 yards) Remember, usually shooting at a distance shorter than what you zero at, the pellet will fly higher than what you aim at. shooting at a range further than what you zero at, and the pellet will drop below what you are aiming at. This also happens with the .177, just that it doesn't drop as much. but the energy is greater in .22 and that is what I use for hunting.

    Venom Tuning

L.C. I have heard some people putting buttons to smooth out the TX200. I am sure in UK, Venom would have the lazaglide tune. You should check with them. I am from the US, unfortunately they only sell lazaglide tune for the HW97K and not for the TX200, not even the Venom Power Kit Stage one.

yes, it is quieter, but remember it will make it nose heavy. I would get a short one. But don't know yet which co. makes it for the TX. If you do get one, let us know, I might install one on mine too.

    Newbie

I always keep my TX200Hc away from water. sometimes use an oily cloth to wipe the barrel. As for the inside of the barrel, I would say maybe 6 months I will do it once. if you don't shoot much, then maybe once a year. remember to lube it when you clean the barrel. Only needs like 2 or 3 drops of oil at the linkage of the underlever, never put oil in the piston area, you want to avoid any dieseling from too much oil.

    Venom Tuning

If you just want a gun that shoots perfect out of the box, you couldn't have made a better choice going for the TX200HC. Which caliber will you get? Also, are you getting the internal or external moderator? I have the internal one and is ok, not too loud, but you can still hear it. surprisingly my neighbors dogs don't bark, maybe they can't hear the muzzle report from the other side of the fence.

    Venom Tuning

L.C.: just like Neil said, is up to you how much you want to spend. I bought a TX200HC .22 and will only do a trigger tune, not much for other type of improvement. I also have on order a HW97K in .22 that I will have tuned once I get it. The lazaglide tune basically has buttons on the piston to make it smoother and also has Delrin bushings, which come standard with the TX200HC.

    Venom Tuning

Are you looking for power or better accuracy? The TX200 is already very accurate. I own the TX200HC .22 and gives me 1 hole groups at 10 yards and 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards. The trigger can be adjusted to achieve better accuracy. I am going to do that on mine since the trigger pull is heavy and I feel a lighter pull will help in accuracy. The Venom Power kit stage one can be purchased, this should bring the FPE of the gun to 18, mine does around 16FPE with RWS superdomes. Buying the Apex seal from James Maccari will also result in a little increase of power, but you have to use the FAC spring and not the volcanix spring which will make the gun smoother but not more powerful, this tune is good for people interested in FT. I prefer to have power, because I use it for hunting, and as you can see from my groups the gun is accurate enough, will benefit more in the accuracy department after a trigger tune.

    Best caliber

I normally shoot at 30 yards with my TX200HC in .22 and it packs a punch when I hit them rabbits and squirrels. I usually practice with 25 yards in my back yard and hit 1/2 inch groups regularly. My rifle is FAC, getting around 16 FPE out of RWS Superdomes.
  18. I think the 4-12X40 is adequate for out to 40 or 50 yards. I usually shoot 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards.
  19. The Hw97K with a built in silencer is not too loud. also the TX200 mk3 has a barrel shroud and you get the benefit of no twang out of the box. I just bought a TX200HC .22 and added a moderator insert about 8 quid and is not too loud either. the Pellet hitting the wood target is louder.
  20. Yes, they work really well, if they are airgun rated. Go for the 3-9x32 which is a good range of magnification out to about 40 yards for hunting. They usually sell them on Ebay. What I like about them is their price.
  21. fisher Mike: The reason I asked about the quality is because I have read many reviews in reviewcentre.co.uk which states that the quality of such rifle is not up to other PCP's. Wookie: I already have firearms, but want to get a PCP for fun, also where I am from, USA, they don't allow silencers on firearms, but for PCP's is ok. My range of hunting will be up to 75 yards and mostly my prey are rabbits, squirrels, pigeons and turkey.
  22. Wookie: I just love airguns, so would like to stick with a FAC PCP instead of a rimfire. The pellets are much cheaper than the .22 rimfire, plus I can get some moderator on the rifle and will make it really quiet. Can't do the same with a firearm. How is the quality of the Logun Axsor? I have heard they are not too good. Also isn't that gun basically the same thing as the FX Tarantula and the Webley FX2000? Who makes the FAC Rapid 7?
  23. Why don't you look at Bushnell Banner 4-12x40mm, airgun rated and good value. If you can spend more then go for the Bushnell Elite 4200 4-12x40mm
  24. They must have made a mistake, I would go for the Hawke airmax. The reverse recoil of a springer will destroy a non airgun rated scope. Make sure you have a scope mount with recoil stop too, to prevent the scope from shifting. You don't want to have the rifle zeroed and later the scope shifts position, this will just make you to zero it again, which is a pain and takes time, that could be used hunting.
  25. I want to get a .22 PCP, would like to know which one you would recommend. Want to be able to hunt up to 70 meters, mostly rabbits, squirrels and pigeons. Looking at the Falcon FN19 or FN12 with Raptor action and the FX Tarantula, Would like to know if the specs on the Webley FX2000 are the same as the Tarantula in Power. Anyone with details, would appreciate your input.
