Paul in North Lincs.
Introducing Polly - our 18 month Patterdale bull cross, bred out of Nuttalls Lines... Although she's not a pedigree Patt....the breed is a recognised hard earth/ground dog with a fearsome reputation. Our polly is used for bushing, and controlling foxes on the shooting syndicates we look after when they are bothering the birds. When red is at home she will readily enter the earth and mix it up with charlie and hold him at bay until located using a locator (similar to a ferret finder).............one located charlie is dug and shot or bolted and shot..... if you like me elaborate...please pm me as pre ban this was not such a clincal excercise........and the laws have changed significantly as to the use of ground dogs

Paul in North Lincs.
nice stout little pup v-max..............Polly didnt switch on to the bigger stuuff until about 13months.....and then it was an accident.............she went to ground of her own free will...and the rest as they say is history.............now shes working reds really well...................to be honest I'd prefer her to be more of a 'sounder' than a 'mixer'............but shes very effective never the less she'd only ever picked up the odd rat...so dont too much if she's not seeing alot.. Hope she's got what it takes and makes the grade for you
Dirty Harry
Am I right in thinking you can get smooth and rough coated patterdales? Harry

Dirty Harry
A bloke where I used to work had a few patterdale crosses. They were by his side all the time and he used to work them. When my current dog passes away I want to get a gsp and a border terrier but I may change that for a patterdale now. Harry
