Walker570
A muntie shot this last week by a friend turned out to be a surprise when I measured it. It looked a bit thin in the beam but was wide and long. Careful measurements put it at 61.9 and had it not broken one and a half mill off its right antler tip it would have been well in. Some good munties showing up around the National Forest these days.

Walker570
Left antler 13.2cm and that with the span measurement of 13.1 helped a great deal. Its tusks where intact and no cut ears etc. Just a small bit off the one antler tip and also one brow point tip both on the same side could have been fighting a sapling rather than another buck. Not difficult to shoot a gold medal these days and many years ago there were thoughts of upping the scores but of course that would have been a bit rough on previous medals. The CCI could perhaps introduce a Platinum score.
simcgunner
Is that a muntjac.? I thought they were found in Asia. I had no Idea they were transplanted.
Walker570
Probably more here in the UK than in the Far East. They have really settled in and spreading widely. Some people hate 'em, I love 'em, both on the hoof and on the plate. Doe under a squirrel feeder.
