I've got a DFA75, a Ward 800s and a Photon 6.5x50.

The clarity on the DFA beats the others hands down. I use the DFA set on its default 100m setting, zeroed at that and leave the mount on a Walther 3-9x56 ( perfect scope for a DFA) attached to a rifle.

The Photon is on a .22RF for rats and rabbits

The Ward I use on everything else, The Ward is very temperamental to moisture and cloud cover etc. during the night and ID visibility can go from 80-300meters depending on conditions. They are also scope temperamental as well. I use a Black Sun Ruby on the Ward and a Night Master 800IR with the others.

Need any more info PM me Sako751sg

Mine is old 700 but struggle to tell a difference picture wise between 800. When I spoke to thomas jacks they did say dfa75 was only really good for a maximum of 150 but never tried it. I did have a photon xt for a short while and probably best I dont comment on that. With all night vision they will be effect by weather conditions. A mate has a drone and if the weather conditions are **** that wont have a decent pic. The ir is a huge consideration with all these units. I am happy with what I have shot with mine since I have had it?

Have a look in fox club section quite a few guys on here with different units and will give honest opinion

Heard there are a few with less than decent pictures if the conditions are not the best.

Been recommended to look at the ADDONIGHT from Custom Rifle Scopes UK.

Seems a good bit of kit although maybe not the range compared to some.

Mostly will be used for rabbits as just started on them again and numbers are epic high.Worked the .17 with lamp one night last week and we ended with 230ish picked and would have had 300+ with all the ones that kicked back down.

Would have had a huge bag with thermal right enough.

Looked at a couple on SD but will mull over the options tonight and make a choice tomorrow so cheers for the advice bud.

We have maybe a mile and a half of this glen and its unreal.Didnt shoot it last year at all as it changed hands but we are back on.Where i lay through the night i would have had 120+ just from laying in one spot, and the wee paddock next to me,maybe 5-6acres,i counted 250+ with the thermal at one time.

Getting £1 a rabbit gut in so pays the ammo and diesel but its good crack regardless.
