garyb
When I took up shooting, I'm sure someone said to me - "Make sure you buy a cabinet bigger than you think you will need" How true... as I'm now one gun away from my limit A quick pic of the new one (on the left), it's a Beretta Silver Pigeon III 20g - took it out on the clays today, and it felt pretty good ! Superb service from The Barn shop in Royston Herts who even chucked in 250 shells

Rascal
The 20g Silver Pigeon looks like it has a shorter stock, or is it just me? There is a reason I ask, I'm looking for a 20g for my son but need something around 13inch.
garyb
Rascal, It is a tad shorter... One of the main reasons for buying it - was that it could be used by myself and mainly the Mrs, so weight and fit for the lady was very important. So I find it a bit small, but fitted to her it's fine!
Rascal
Garyb, Thanks for the reply mate, I'll keep a look out in the local gun shops. Although that said its gonna be a bit to pricey for his first gun, but its a nice bit of kit.
bluejay22
Nice guns indeed. My Beretta has developed a bit of a niggle. It`s a 686 and 20yrs old. Sometimes she`ll not fire the second barrel as obviously she hasn`t knocked something "over" on the first shot. She`s off to the doc soon to get it fixed. Good luck with the new gun anyway. Troosers Too
Rascal, Recently my wife has taken up shooting clays & was left some money by an old friend so she decided she'd like to get her own gun. She says that she's 5'2" - AND A HALF and has always struggled to get a gun anywhere close to fitting so we ordered a Beretta Silver Pigeon S with a 13.1/2inck stock. With a comb raiser, it fits beautifully. The good thing about it all was that when the gun arrived, they had also given us the cut off butt section from the stock. Any good shop would be able to put this back on the gun at a later date. Perhaps this solution would work for your son. The only problem for a growing lad might be barrel length. With the shortened stock, a normal 28 or 30 inch barrel puts the balance WAY forward. For us, this wasn't too much of a problem as Mrs TT is tiny and struggles with the longer barrels so she got 26 inch ones as she isn't going to grow any more - I HOPE. It is a lovley, pointy wee gun, really light & easy for her to handle Cheers TT
garyb
This one's got an auto safety - which for the life of me can't remember to take off each time !!! To much laughter of my shooting mates.
