We`ve been enjoying some very nice weather here for a few days now, crystal clear blue skies if a little cold. Anyway, i have a 8" newt reflector telescope and for a bit of a lark i trained in on the high flying jets that pass overhead. Well, after a bit of jiggling trying to keep the jet in the eyepiece i was mightily impressed with the view. You could read "British Airways", "Air France" and KLM etc.So all good stuff. Then i thought with the internet and all perhaps there would be a resource somewhere that might provide an ident on the jets. Flightradar24.com take a bow. Realtime GPS transponders on board the aircraft tells you where it is over the globe.I zoom into my area and can identify the planes, where they are going and where they came from. I even noticed if you click on a moving plane a picture of that plane comes up, not one like it but that planes registration. As we don`t get too many clear blue skies, even in summer, i don`t suppose i`ll be spending much time at it but it was very interesting seeing how technology educates us all more and more. PS Even at 30,000 odd feet those Airbus 380`s are enormous.

I reckon on accuracy they all are there or there abouts, as previously mentioned some of them seem to be built for juveniles which is why i put a Richards stock on my 77/17. The trigger was way too heavy but a bit of TLC sorted that out thankfully and at £90 odd for an aftermarket Volquartsen unit i`m relieved it did.

Currys staff aren`t very well clued up on their products i find. First off it`s new faces everytime you visit and unless the manager is around they all huddle round the till on their smart phones. Prices are good to be fair to them and they`re open Sat & Sun.

Thanks for the tips. I had originally planned to get a Jard trigger but with weather, work and one thing and another never set the wheels in motion..plus it was working out about £90 and that was with a good exchange rate against the USD at that particular time. I see Midway UK have the rifle Basix unit in stock so it`s an option. Thanks again.

I was wondering if any of you know if it`s possible to modify the stock trigger on a 77/17 HMR. The trigger i believe is set around 6lbs and although i have used it i know if it were lighter shots, especially longer range ones, would be tighter. Kits are available but can the stock trigger be made a little more user friendly? Thanks

Well shot that man!! I`m waiting to get an x2 Harrier on my fac but if it`s not the clerical slowness ( away over 5 weeks ) it`s the posties on strike :blink: It`ll come sometime i guess. Congrats on getting the rabbit and squirrel to sit so still while you took their foto.....

Hi OSK, i`ve shot a Harrier for a few years now. I can`t say anymore than it`s a super little airgun, accurate, reliable and well made. Mine is beech and maybe a bit bland but the metalwork is like brand new and i think just shows there`re built to last. I`m waiting on an x2 at the moment. Apparently i can`t have two .22`s on my licence.I was saddened to give up the Harrier but at least the guy who bought it is a workmate. You`ve bought yourself a decent gun there! Health to enjoy it.

I shoot with 3 brands of pellet mostly. Rightly or wrongly i think Accupells & AA field fly faster than Bisley magnums and although each are all accurate and consistant in their trajectory, for long shots i.e. over 50 meters i prefer either of the lighter pellets. The mags hit hard and are exellent on large rooks and maggies hitting home with a real smack. I shoot a Daystate at 30ft/lbs.

It`ll be down to personal choice in the end. If you can handle them either at a club or gunshop then whatever "feels" the best should be your choice. I would imagine the HW would be hard to walk past. Very popular and from a company that have a reputation for building a solid, reliable product. The Logun has it`s detracters but likewise i`ve read reviewers rave on about the accuracy, shot count etc. Remember other marques like Daystate, Falcon, BSA. They`re not too shaby either Good luck on your choice.
