Sheepman
Hi I've been into fishing since I was a kid (coarse and sea), but a mate recently lent me his BSA Supersport, and then his S410, and now I'm completely hooked on rabbiting (no pun intended). I've got good farm access for hunting, which is great, but very little knowledge and experience (not so great ). So it was good to find a site like this with so many like minded people. What got me looking in the first place was a young rabbit I shot tonight - after gutting I noticed that the liver was riddled with large white lumps. Anyone know what this might be? Myxi has been rife on the farm over that last couple of years, but seems to be better this year. But it had no outward signs of myxi. Many thanks

pin
The liver lumps were likely fluke, are there cattle or sheep on the fields? Tends to be more prevalent there than other areas.

Sheepman
Ah, I had wondered about fluke. Many thanks. Its been particularly bad amongst the lambs this year with the weather being so wet. I was pleased with the hunting on Monday - I managed to stalk my first rabbit (that doesn't sound good  ) instead of the usual ambush. My 11 year old daughter has discovered a love of rabbit stew (a real dilema, considering she has a pet rabbit), so got to keep her happy!
