Slipster
My ESS will soon be a year old and my decission is do i have her done or do i leave her I never intended for her to breed she is just my friend and loyal companion. She has had one season when about 7 months old. I have heard stories they become lazy and can spoil them for working. What would you advise
new to the flock
Slipster, I have never really found an altered Bitch to be lazy, or not willing to work. What I have found is that they tend to become a little chunky, and weight control is a big concern. You need to be a little more diligant in the weight control and exercise program as a result of this. Personally I believe the benefits of having her spayed....no pyrametria, no ovian cancer, no heats.... far out weigh the side effects. If you have no intention of breeding have her done. Paul in North Lincs.
Unless the bitch is outstanding in performance, anmd would warrant a litter I would have her done..............there are alot of arguments 'to' and 'against'................but personally I would recon the pros far outway the cons...
