Teal
Had a ladder trap going a few weeks ago. Managed a total of 130 over the week it was running.Edit- just noticed pictures disappeared so added these ones of two different traps which I had running. Teal
Sadly not cat! It worked out at 100 rooks and the remainder jackdaws. The other time I've run a ladder trap i caught mostly jackdaws (over 200 and the perhaps 20 rooks photo below). They were nicking calf pellets last time, and this time the silage (they were after the maize in it). Two of the jackdaws (presume same brood?) had completely bald heads- is this a feather mite of some sort? (sadly no photo).
JohnGalway
Well done Teal, that's a great result Were the baldy heads a bit like this fella in the picture below?
Teal
Yes exactly like that, even a bit more of the head was bald, and more white than pink- perhaps a later stage of disease? Haven't seen any others so can't be too contagious(?).

I've not seen it on any other birds around here before or after that guy.
