keeper96
Hi guys i have a mk4 1.5dci Clio in need of a clutch. I have plenty of experience of doing Land Rover clutches and I’m currently on a mechanics apprenticeship, albeit on trains, so experience is there. I have access to a full garage with 2 post lift. What’s it like working on a front wheel drive? I’d like to do this myself but just don’t have full confidence with having not tackled a FWD before and I don’t know what’s involved. Thanks, Jamie
Cyrus1988
If you’ve got the lift then it should be no problem. Only main difference I can think of is you’ll have two drive shafts to pop out the gearbox.
Saltings
if you have access to a ramp pull both lower ball joints may be enough to pull drive shafts to remove gearbox / bell housing and fit clutch and bearing and reassemble if in doubt have a look on you tube they are not hard to do centering your clutch and clutch orientation engine or gearbox is more important sometimes they are stamped which face if you are near Coventry you can borrow my clutch centering tool
